Social Innovation Enablement:
I am particularly interested in how actors within the social innovation ecosystem can enable other actors—such as civil society—to engage in more socially innovative actions and to launch startups in the spirit of social entrepreneurship. In doing so, I examine a broad spectrum of factors and also incorporate artificial intelligence into the equation. Public institutions I look into comprise local and regional public administration as well as higher education institutions.

Public Entrepreneurship:
With a focus on the public sector, I began to examine—as part of my dissertation, “From Public Leaders to Public Entrepreneurs: Antecedents and Contextual Factors of Public Entrepreneurship from a Cross-Disciplinary Perspective”—which individual and organizational factors underpin public entrepreneurship, that is, entrepreneurial action in the public sector. Three articles have emerged from my dissertation. Even after completing my doctorate, I continue to view the public sector as an entrepreneurial actor within the ecosystem of social innovation and am researching the full range of individual, organizational, and external factors—including network formation.
